Naturally, after your hard work, you want the payoff; it s very simple to install your font right now. Go to the Start menu, choose Control Panel | Fonts. Now that the Fonts window is open, you can drag your font file from an open window where you saved it, into the Fonts window. The font is now available to CorelDRAW and every application that uses typefaces. The Fonts utility in Control Panel copies typefaces; you didn t move the font but you might want to copy it to a safe location now. This chapter is an integration chapter; you ve seen how to use a lot of CorelDRAW s tools that are documented in previous chapters to actually make a tool of your own: a digital typeface. In Figure 15-8 you can see that some of CorelDRAW s templates were used to create a letterhead envelope, a tri-fold brochure, and even some hang tags, all using a custom font and all the work you see here took about 15 minutes. Now that you have a font, you re going to want to type a lot of words. Fortunately, the next chapter shows you how CorelDRAW can help you spell your words correctly, can make grammar suggestions, and can write a SIGGRAPH paper all by itself. Only kidding about the last part!

As explained, all C# types, including the value types, are derived from object. Thus, a reference of type object can be used to refer to any other type, including value types. When an object reference refers to a value type, a process known as boxing occurs. Boxing causes the value of a value type to be stored in an object instance. Thus, a value type is boxed inside an object. This object can then be used like any other object. In all cases, boxing occurs automatically. You simply assign a value to an object reference. C# handles the rest. Unboxing is the process of retrieving a value from a boxed object. This action is performed using an explicit cast from the object reference to its corresponding value type. Attempting to unbox an object into a different type will result in a runtime error. qr code scanner

In 1986, two years after the crash of the console game industry, a Japanese company, little-known in America, brought out a new home console machine called the Nintendo Entertainment System. The retailers were skeptical, but in the end, Nintendo almost single-handedly rebuilt the home console industry and made their name synonymous with video games. People who have never heard of a Microsoft Xbox or a Sony Playstation will immediately know what you re talking about if you say the words Nintendo machine. Nintendo made three important changes to the way that the games were produced and sold. First, they strictly controlled who could and could not make games for their machine. Nintendo does not allow just anyone to publish for their systems: they want to know that the publisher is reputable and will stand behind its products. There will never be any fly-by-night publishers for Nintendo systems (as there were for the Atari). Second, they instituted quality standards. It s not enough just to have a license from Nintendo; if you publish for their machine, you must submit your game to them for rigorous testing before they will allow it to be sold. Many independent publishers grumble about this, since Nintendo also publishes games of their own and the testing process gives them an advance look at what their competitors are doing. Nevertheless, Nintendo considers that their own reputation is at stake with every game. They won t allow shoddy, buggy products to go out with their logo on them. Third, Nintendo instituted content standards. Not unlike Walt Disney, they wanted to be perceived as producers of entertainment for children. When people thought Nintendo, the company wanted them to think safe for kids at the same time. To that end, for many years they had a strict policy against showing any blood, and they limited the kinds of violence that could be depicted. Again, independent publishers fretted under these regulations. A by-product of these rules is that they tend to restrict the total number of games for the Nintendo that are on the market at any given time. If there were a glut of Nintendo games, all very similar to one another, it would drive down prices and could potentially lead to another crash just like the first one. These policies were the path to Nintendo s fortune, and the home console game industry was reborn. In the years since then, every company making a console machine has adopted similar rules, and the industry has continued to grow. At this point, another crash seems unlikely; or if there is one, it will be caused by different factors.

6. Verify the operational state of the interface as well as LMI. Use the show interfaces command to verify that the interface is up and up and that LMI is functioning. Use the show frame-relay lmi command to make sure the router is sending and receiving LMI information. 7. Verify your PVC configuration and status on the 2600-2. View the resolution entry: show frame-relay map. View the PVC: show frame-relay pvc. The status of the VC should be ACTIVE. 8. Verify your PVC configuration and status on the 2600-1. At the top of the simulator in the menu bar, click the eRouters icon and choose 2600-1. View the resolution entry: show frame-relay map. View the PVC: show frame-relay pvc. The status of the VC should be ACTIVE. 9. Ping the 2600-2 s Frame Relay interface address. Test connectivity: ping The ping should be successful. 10. On the 2600-1 router, set up a static route to the 2600-2 s remote network. View the routing table. At the top of the simulator in the menu bar, click the eRouters icon and choose 2600-1. On the 2600-1, set up the static route to reach configure terminal and ip route Exit Configuration mode: end. View the routing table and look for the static route: show ip route. 11. On the 2600-2 router, set up a static route to the 2600-1 s remote network. View the routing table. At the top of the simulator in the menu bar, click the eRouters icon and choose 2600-2. On the 2600-2, set up the static route to reach configure terminal and ip route Exit Configuration mode: end. View the routing table and look for the static route: show ip route. 12. From Host-1, test the connection to Host-3. At the top of the simulator in the menu bar, click the eStations icon and choose Host-1. On Host-1, ping Host-3: ping The ping should be successful. You should now be more familiar with setting up a basic manually resolved Frame Relay connection to a remote site.

When discussing the Three learner s goals, developers should help the Three clearly connect the key development motivators listed below to specific coaching goals. This link may be obvious to learners as they discuss why each coaching goal is important, but if it is not, developers can do one of two things: (1) Ask Three learners, What personal and professional benefits will you gain when you achieve this goal or (2) explain the connection between the goal and the motivator directly by saying, This can help you be just as successful as you desire, or even more so, but in a more relaxed, less pressured way.

As you develop universes, consider how you will treat incremental design changes and backups. Clearly, in the event of a disk crash or other hardware failure, you need to ensure both your hard disk and the repository database and files are backed up on a regular basis. However, as you revise individual universes, there is no way to recover a particular version from the repository; therefore, I recommend you keep a separate backup copy of the universe.unv file before making major design changes.
It s easy in retrospect to carefully understand why some of us lean toward selecting Florida but we should use objective, not subjective, criteria to make the decision. If we do that, we must go with Georgia.
and ratios. If we can show that the company will be producing enough cash in excess of its operational and investment needs over the term of the loan to repay the loan, then it would be a go decision to lend, at least insofar as the numbers are concerned. (Good lending decisions must consider other, qualitative factors.) The challenge for the credit decisionmakers occurs when the company is considered a good company, but the cash flow is less robust. This is why skilled and experienced credit officers are always in demand by lending institutions. Equity Investments Equity investors need projections to estimate their equity returns through the internal rate of return (IRR) calculations. In these calculations, it is important to be as precise as possible in modeling the timing of the investments, so that they are not all the year end according to the model. In this case, one often sees quarterly or even monthly models. This is one reason why many equity investment models, such as those used in project finance and leveraged buyout situations, use periodicities shorter than a year. Leveraged Buyout In a leveraged buyout (or LBO), a company is bought out by a group of investors, which usually includes the current management, using debt to finance the purchase. Modeling such a transaction requires a focus on both the debt and equity changes at the deal date, the effects on the stub year (the portion of the year subsequent to the transaction), and the remaining forecast years. On a purchase LBO, goodwill will have to be calculated; on a recapitalization LBO, it will not. Mergers and Acquisitions Where an LBO involves one company, a merger or acquisition would involve two companies. (Of course, a company could buy another company and the new company can then buy a third, and so forth, but we can think of this as a succession of mergers, each involving only two companies.)
