Subscriber converters have been through many generic versions throughout the years. The rst use for a subscriber converter was to enable a TV set to tune to a channel it could not receive otherwise. Early TV sets were basically 12-channel sets, offering channels 2 through 13. When the FCC opened up the UHF television band, TV sets made after that time became tted with a UHF channel selector, while earlier TV set owners had to purchase a separate UHF converter. As mentioned in 1, cable operators provided 12 channels on a cable system with an upper frequency limit of 220 MHz. UHF stations were translated down to the band of 108 MHz to 170 MHz, which could carry nine mid-band television carriers. The translation was done at the cable system headend by adding these nine channels to the already established 12 channels, which gave a system 21 total channels. A subscriber converter then translated these channels back up to UHF channels to be selected on the television set s UHF converter.

As this example suggests, using catch(...) as a default is a good way to catch all exceptions that you don t want to handle explicitly. Also, by catching all exceptions, you prevent an unhandled exception from causing an abnormal program termination.

CURRENT PRACTICE
The output from the program is shown here:
the necessary background in construction-related knowledge at the right time in their BIM curriculum. The BIM Curriculum The new BIM classes will address the creation and use of a building information model. These classes will presuppose a certain amount of basic construction knowledge so that the students can take existing plans and build a virtual project from them. The BIM-related content of the university curriculum is essentially the same as the content required for construction professionals. The university classes, however, also contain general knowledge required to give the student an adequate background to understand the function of the BIM in the construction process. The introductory class addresses the basic concepts and fundamental skills for construction management students; this class takes place within the first two years of the university education. The remaining four semesters develop an understanding of construction materials, processes, techniques, and representations in the context of the BIM and its processes within the planning and management of construction projects; these classes are scheduled for the last two years before graduation. All the exercises focus on the construction of simulation models based on documentation of existing projects. It begins with the careful analysis of drawings and specifications and requires the visualization of the project and its representation in the simulation. As the exercises progress through the four classes, the difficulty and level of detail of the subject increase. The first two classes address primarily individual skills such as modeling and analyzing models. The last two classes focus on team work and complexity that can only be addressed through collaboration. The last semester is devoted to real construction projects in progress, in collaboration with the company working on the project; this class is like an internship, and it gives the students a good basis for entering the industry with a professional level of skill. A brief outline of a BIM curriculum can include the following: Introduction Class Construction Graphics This is the introduction class for all CM majors, and it includes basic skills for visualizing, representing, and communicating construction concepts. Through lectures and exercises the students will learn basic skills that help them to understand graphical representations of construction projects.
