Create the top-level items manually. You can pull the submenu items from the ActionList component. In the Object Inspector window, change the Caption property to &File and press ENTER. Now in the menu designer window, select the File item just added. You should see an empty item below it; select the empty menu item. In the Object Inspector window, select the Action property and click the down arrow. A drop-down list appears, as in Figure 29-26, which shows the available actions created earlier. Select FileNew for this empty menu slot. Immediately, the menu item New appears in the menu designer window. You may have noticed that Windows applications usually have a separator line between the file submenu items and the exit program item. While the address book application really does not need one, it is easy to add a separator. Select the empty slot below the New item and in the Caption property type a hyphen and press ENTER. By doing this one little step, you have created a separator line on the menu. Now select the empty slot below the separator line and change its Action property to FileExit. This completes the File menu item and its submenu. Now let s add the Edit menu. Select the empty slot right next to the File menu name and, in the Caption property value, type &Edit. Select the Edit item to open an empty slot below it and select the empty slot. In the Action property, select EditCut1. Notice that not only does it put the

When you re shooting a portrait, always focus on your subject s eye nearest the camera because depth of field the distance in front and in back of whatever you ve focused on extends farther in back than it does in front. This gives you a chance to have the far eye in focus too, but if the depth of field is shallow, it ensures the eye nearer the camera will be sharp. The saying about eyes being the windows to the soul has some truth to it. At least in portraits, if both eyes are out of focus, the picture is a failure.

It is this data stream at 19.5 Mbps that will be modulated in 8-VSB by the television broadcasting industry and transmitted on cable by QAM64. The question remains, Will the cable television industry receive off-air 8-VSB signals and carry them on the cable in the same format or will they demodulate them and re-transmit in QAM-64 format Early signs indicate that if consecutive channel 8-VSB signals exhibit any interchannel interference, then it may be necessary to detect and retransmit in QAM64 format. Ideally, cable operators should work closely with the broadcast industry to receive the MPEG-2 data stream of the broadcast stations signal via ber-optic connection that will preserve signal integrity. Today, the cable operator can carry the stations signals in QAM-64 format.

Since K is greater than 1, we see that we have a stable transistor at 1.5 GHz with the transistor s bias conditions as stated in the S-parameter file. For ease of design, it is always recommended that, if at all possible, we exploit only unconditionally stable transistors in our amplifier circuits. For the calculation of maximum available gain to be valid, K must be greater than 1, or unconditionally stable. Thus, if K is over 1 for a transistor, we can proceed to the MAG calculation to see if the transistor will give us the gain value we desire. MAG is, of course, never attained in practice, so only when the MAG is 20 percent or more above our required gain would we want to work with that particular transistor. To calculate the MAG of the transistor, or the maximum gain that the transistor can attain when perfectly matched: 1. Calculate B1 1 |S11|2 |S22|2 |DS|2

many cross-references makes it easy to use and find related topics. Keeping it current is also as easy as updating the necessary pages. Notification of the changes to the manual with a hot link to the affected page may be sent by e-mail to make sure that the latest procedure is followed. This is a lot better than implementing the old change page mentality by using e-mail. That is, instead of sending our change packaged, the changes are sent as e-mail attachments. While this may seem easy to the sender, it has the effect of killing the e-mail system. These attachments (typically huge files compared to normal e-mail) use up the disk space quickly. If the system administrators are on top of things, they will get more disk space. Most mail systems (actually any system) don t deal well with very full disks so if they let it slide, the mail system will continue to crash. This reduces the perceived reliability of the whole computing environment.
