Here, the value of tos is checked. If it is zero, the stack is empty. Otherwise, tos is decremented, and the element at that index is returned. Although Push( ) and Pop( ) are the only methods needed to implement a stack, some others are quite useful, and the Stack class defines four more. These are IsFull( ), IsEmpty( ), Capacity( ), and GetNum( ), and they provide information about the state of the stack. They are shown here:

SIP includes a number of different message headers. These headers are items of information included in a request or response to provide further information about the message or to enable appropriate handling of the message. In that respect, message headers are akin to the message parameters or information elements included in any typical signaling protocol such as ISUP, Q.931, and so on. For example, the To: header in an INVITE message indicates the called party, and the From: header indicates the calling party. The intention in this chapter is to describe the usage of headers and to give an understanding of the most common and useful headers. For complete definitions, the user is referred to RFC 3261. Some headers make sense only in certain requests or responses, and in some cases, the presence of a given header will depend on the context. Moreover, the presence of a given header in a response might be reasonable only if the response is issued to a specific request. Tables 5-2 and 5-3 list the various headers and specify the application of each header to each request or response. Table 5-2 provides a mapping between requests and headers. The information in Table 5-2 should be read as follows:

As you probably know, in programming it is sometimes easier to use a number system based on 8 or 16 instead of 10. The number system based on 8 is called octal, and it uses the digits 0 through 7. In octal, the number 10 is the same as 8 in decimal. The base-16 number system is called hexadecimal, and it uses the digits 0 through 9, plus the letters A through F, which stand for 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15. For example, the hexadecimal number 10 is 16 in decimal. Because of the frequency with which these two number systems are used, C++ allows you to specify integer literals in hexadecimal or octal instead of decimal. A hexadecimal literal must begin with 0x (a zero followed by an x). An octal literal begins with a zero. Here are some examples:
