Citrix user policies are similar in nature to Group Policies but are restricted to controlling only Citrix XenApp related settings. Citrix policies are configured from within the Presentation Server Console under the Policies node. Once a policy is configured, a conditional filter needs to be specified to determine how the policy is applied. All conditional filters must be met for the policy to apply to a Citrix connection. Filters are based on the following criteria: Access control Client IP address Client name Server(s) connecting to Users or groups

a global filter will change the Entity dimension member selection for all the matrixes if the dimension member selection is changed in any one matrix in the report. Once the business report is finalized with all the required work sheets and matrixes, it must be saved using the Save link under the Reports icon in the PerformancePoint ribbon. The report will be saved to the default Report storage location for the application defined in the Planning Administration Console. It is important to use the Save link under the Reports icon, since the regular save action in Excel will not save the report to the PPS Planning Server. Once the business report is saved, it can be published as a form template by selecting the Publish -> As Form Template option under the Reports icon in the PerformancePoint ribbon. Selecting this option will open the Publish as Form Template dialog box. The value CorpBgt2008 is used as the Name and Label for the purpose of the examples in this chapter. The Budget model site is selected from the drop-down list for Model Site:. Clicking OK will close the dialog box and save the report as a form template in the PPS Planning Server. These form templates are visible in the Forms workspace within the Planning Business Modeler as described in the section on Forms and Reports earlier in this chapter.

Links Linking is an important concept in virtual construction simulations, and various types of links will be discussed. Linking refers to the interconnection of different sources of information. This information may be part of the 3D model, or it could be contained in another format separate from the model file itself, such as in a schedule, a spreadsheet, a database, or as a text document. Model to Information Link Parametric object information is information that is part of a specific object in the project model. The nature of the link is automatic, it is usually simple to edit the model object to reflect whatever changes are required in the information. Some software tools provide the opportunity to change this type of information from several locations. That is, a 3D model containing steel trusses will permit the editing of a particular truss in the dialog box for that specific truss object. Entities such as truss length, depths, web pattern, and bearing characteristics may be parametric values for a truss object. In a schedule (parts list) from the model it may also be possible to change the parametric values for certain elements, and this change will then also take effect in the model that the schedule is linked to; in other words the model and the schedule are actually just two different views of the same BIM and will thus only need to be addressed in any one of these views to result in an edit to the project model. Caution: Not all software tools provide this functionality with all their model elements. Model-to-Model Link Another common link in BIM exists in the interoperability of various models that may have been created by different software tools. This is a very demanding area, and there is a large effort going into the development of standards to define interoperability between models. The International Alliance for Interoperability (IAI) has created a uniform platform file format for software developers; this is called the international foundation class (IFC) format. This means that for a model to be able to be compatible with models created by other software tools, it is necessary for all of them to be translatable into a uniform file format, so that all the object s information can be transferred correctly. In most cases it is a challenge for such a translation to retain all the information that the model contained in its original native file format. Software developers will continue to struggle with this issue for some time into the future. The best method of determining interoperability is to try to link several experimental files that contain examples of all the information the project team is concerned about, and put the test file through all the anticipated processes. Specific software tools can have a built-in capacity to be able to read and use the file format of other modelers. This is outside of any overall interoperability compliance and generally is dictated by market demands. A number of the larger modeling software companies are now developing suites of modeling and construction-related software tools that are quite interoperable among themselves, similar to the Microsoft Office suite of software tools. (See Chap. 3, Software Tools. ) Caution: Most of the suites of modeling and peripheral software tools only address interoperability among themselves and not in relation to other manufacturers products.

The String class overloads two operators: = = and !=. To test two strings for equality, use the = = operator. Normally, when the = = operator is applied to object references, it determines if both references refer to the same object. This differs for objects of type String. When the = = is applied to two String references, the contents of the strings, themselves, are compared for equality. The same is true for the != operator: the contents of the strings are compared. However, the other relational operators, such as < or >=, compare the references, just like they do for other types of objects. To determine if one string is greater than or less than another, use the Compare( ) or CompareTo( ) method defined by String. As you will see, many string comparisons make use of cultural information. This is not the case with the = = and != operators. They simply compare the ordinal values of the characters within the strings. (In other words, they compare the binary values of the characters, unmodified by cultural norms.) Thus, these operators are case-sensitive and culture-insensitive.

If we think of jitter as a frequency modulation process, we can see that it will cause a frequency deviation of the nominal bit rate that is proportional to the jitter amplitude. The bandwidth of the tank circuit in the clock recovery section therefore will determine the amplitude of jitter that is passed onto the recovered clock. It can be shown that the cutoff frequency of the jitter tolerance characteristic corresponds to the half bandwidth between 3 dB points of the tank circuit: Fc = where: Fm = nominal bit rate and Q = quality factor of the tank circuit at its resonant frequency.

1. On the Authority Server, start the Authority/RA Console Administration Program and Enumerate the Users in the Active Directory Domain. 2. Open the Properties Page of the User you want to add to Entrust and Add it. 3. Note the Reference Number and the Authorization Code. 4. On a workstation, deploy the Entelligence Desktop Designer and create a deployment package. Deploy the package to the client workstation and change the entrust.ini initialization file to point to the correct Authority and Directory Server. 5. Log on to the client with the user you added to Entrust Authority. 6. Create a new Entrust User Profile. Specify the Reference Number and the authorization code. 7. Assign the user a password and log on to Entrust.
A domain user cannot enroll for a smart card logon (authentication) or smart card user (authentication plus e-mail) certificate unless an SA has granted the user access rights to the Certificate Template stored in Active Directory. This is done because enrollment for a smart card certificate must be a controlled procedure in the same manner that employee badges are controlled for identification and physical access purposes. The recommended method for enrolling users for smart card-based certificates and keys is through the enroll-on-behalf-of station that is integrated with Certificate Services. When an Enterprise CA is installed, the installation includes the enroll-on-behalf-of station. This station lets an administrator act on behalf of a specific user to request and install a smart card logon or smart card user certificate onto the user s smart card. The enrollment station does not provide any card-personalization functions, such as creating a file structure or setting of the personal identification number (PIN), because those are card-specific functions and can only be performed using specialized software provided by the smart card manufacturer. Additional information is available by referencing Microsoft knowledgebase support article 257480 (http://support.microsoft.com/default .aspx scid=kb;en-us;257480). For an administrator to enroll for a smart card logon or smart card user certificate on behalf of a specific user: 1. Launch Microsoft Internet Explorer. 2. To connect to a CA, type http://machine-name/certsrv into the Address field of Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) (where machine-name is replaced with the name of the computer running the issuing Certification Authority).
