Before you can access a collection through an enumerator, you must obtain one. The logical operators provided by C# perform the most commonly used logical operations. However, several other operations are defined by the rules for formal logic. These other logical operations can be constructed using the logical operators supported by C#. Thus, C# supplies a set of logical operators sufficient to construct any other logical operation. For example, another logical operation is implication. Implication is a binary operation in which the outcome is false only when the left operand is true and the right operand is false. (The implication operation reflects the idea that true cannot imply false.) Thus, the truth table for the implication operator is shown here:

The other way to install a new telephone jack is if your home happens to have a punch-down block. This facilitates installing your home s telephone system in a home-run topology. If something happens to one of your telephone jacks, the rest of the jacks in the home won t suffer because of it. A punch-down block (also known as a 66 block) is a block that contains 66 connectors in four columns. Columns 1 and 2 are connected together while columns 3 and 4 are connected together. Punch-down blocks are prewired and are used to feed signals to various telephone cables. Ernest Adams graduated from Stanford University with a degree in Philosophy in 1982. Initially, he worked as a software engineer in the electronics industry, but switched to game development in 1989, joining a company called Interactive Productions (later P.F.Magic). There he created the PC client for an early America Online game, RabbitJack s Casino. He also did the programming for a multiplayer party game called Third Degree for the short-lived CD-I player. Moving to Electronic Arts in 1992, Adams became a game designer. He designed the first-ever CD-ROM edition of John Madden Football for the 3DO Multiplayer. For the next several years he served as the audio/video producer for the Madden series, and under his guidance Electronic Arts perfected the technique of assembling sentences from audio snippets to produce seamless play-by-play commentary. During this period Adams also helped to produce the Game Developers Conference and founded the International Game Developers Association, the first worldwide professional society for game developers. In 1999, Adams moved to Great Britain to become a lead designer at Bullfrog Productions, a subsidiary of Electronic Arts. There he worked on two projects, Genesis: The Hand of God and Dungeon Keeper 3. Unfortunately, both were cancelled when the company refocused its attention on the Harry Potter series. In 2000 Adams left Bullfrog to become a design consultant, joining the International Hobo consortium. Many of his projects are outside the mainstream, requiring a high degree of creativity. Among his clients have been the Guinness Book of World Records and Zoo Atlanta. He writes a regular column on game design called The Designer s Notebook for the Gamasutra developers webzine, and has coauthored a book, Andrew Rollings and Ernest Adams on Game Design. Jobhunting Tip: Avoiding Incompetent Employers
The Hub and Spoke architecture requires the use of both a transport device, in this case, an ADM and a L2/L3 switch as shown in Figure 12.23. The RPR ring collapses the functions of these two devices into one. This reduces equipment requirements and costs for optical ports and rack space in CO facilities. Table 12.5 above compares the optical ports required for the two architectures. More equipment involves higher costs for buying, installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting. The hub and spoke design requires 28 optical ports verses only 14 needed for the RPR ring design. Separately managing L2/L3 switching and SONET/SDH devices at each location presents more challenges as well. Integrating these functions into an RPR packet ring and managing that one device using existing OSS systems presents additional operational savings.
