Many of today s service providers are struggling with the dilemma of moving to an optical network based on IP and/or MPLS. How do they realize the capital and operational benefits of a new packet-based optical infrastructure, while leveraging the existing base of Synchronous Optical Network (SONET) gear and also protecting the large revenue stream associated with this equipment How do they move from mature Frame Relay or ATM networks, while still being able to provide these lucrative services One possibility is the emulation of circuits or services via PWs. Circuit emulation over ATM and the interworking of Frame Relay and ATM have already been standardized. Emulation allows existing circuits and/or services to be carried across the new infrastructure and thus enables the interworking of disparate networks. The ATM Forum document Circuit Emulation Service Interoperability Specification Version 2.0 44 provides some insight into the requirements for such a service. There is a user demand for carrying certain types of constant bit rate (CBR) or circuit traffic over ATM networks. Because ATM is essentially a packet- (rather than circuit-) oriented transmission technology, it must emulate circuit characteristics in order to provide good support for CBR traffic.

You can customize Recovery Console to bypass the first and second restrictions, by using the SET command to modify environment variables. Windows XP Professional uses environment variables to associate string values, such as folder or file paths, to variables that applications and the operating system can use. For example, by using environment variables, scripts can run without modification on computers that have different configurations. For more information about environment variables, see To add or change the values of environment variables in Windows XP Professional Help and Support Center.

Hop-by-hop label assignment is the process by which the LSP setup requests are routed according to the next hop routing toward the destination of the data. LSP setup could be initiated by updates to the routing table or in response to a new traffic flow. The IETF MPLS
Oxidation reduction reactions, commonly called redox reactions, are an extremely important category of reaction. Redox reactions include combustion, corrosion, respiration, photosynthesis, and the reactions involved in electrochemical cells (batteries). The driving force involved in redox reactions is the exchange of electrons from a more active species to a less active one. You can predict the relative activities from a table of activities or a halfreaction table. 16 goes into depth about electrochemistry and redox reactions. The AP free-response booklet includes a table of half-reactions, which you may use for help during this part of the exam. A similar table can be found in the back of this book. Alternatively, you may wish to memorize the common oxidizing and reducing agents. Redox is a term that stands for reduction and oxidation. Reduction is the gain of electrons and oxidation is the loss of electrons. For example, suppose a piece of zinc metal is

Securing Remote Access Connections
The ICS host computer automatically assigns IP addresses, forwards DNS names to the Internet for resolution, and assigns itself as the default gateway for connecting to the Internet. If any clients on the remote office s intranet are providing these functions, Internet Connection Sharing might not work.
