Locate the device for which you want to update the driver. Right-click the device, and select Update Driver Software. Click Search Automatically For Updated Driver Software. This makes Windows search your computer, including the CD or DVD-ROM drive and the Windows Update website, for updated drivers. If Windows locates an updated driver, it automatically installs it, as shown in Figure 1-19.

You can bind additional clients, services, and protocols to a network connection by opening the properties dialog box associated with a connection and clicking Install. By installing and configuring various Windows components, you can add services to your network such as centralized addressing (DHCP) and name resolution (WINS, DNS). Although you can usually accept the default Auto Detect mode for frame type set tings with the NWLink protocol, the Auto Detect feature cannot properly resolve situations in which multiple frame types exist. To install Active Directory on your network, simply promote a computer to the status of domain controller by adding the Domain Controller role. The introduc tion of Windows Server 2003 Active Directory domains dramatically changes the logical infrastructure of a Windows network.

Note Internet Connection Firewall is the software firewall built into versions of Microsoft Windows XP prior to applying Service Pack 2. After installing Service Pack 2, the firewall is updated to the new (and more robust) Windows Firewall. This chapter focuses on Windows Firewall, and the exam has been updated for Windows Firewall as well. However, the official objectives might still list Internet Connection Firewall.

The Windows Forms project named PublicKeyEncryptor is located on your companion CD and is available in both C# and Visual Basic .NET. The application has a single form that is intended to display text-encoded versions of the private key (myPrivateKeyTextBox), the public key (myPublicKeyTextBox), and the recipient s public key (otherPublicKeyTextBox). Additionally, messageTextBox allows users to enter messages for encryption and should be used to display decrypted messages.
