Once you have prepared the schema and the domain, it is time to ensure that the location where you will place Exchange Server 2007 is suitably readied. A site is a set of IP subnets that are defined in Active Directory. Sites are configured using the Active Directory Sites And Services management console and are used to define distinct locations in an organization s network. For example, you work for a company that has its head office in Melbourne, Australia, and regional offices in the outback towns of Wagga Wagga, Cootamundra, and Wangaratta. Each office would use one or more separate IP subnets. Using the Active Directory Sites And Services console, the subnets used by each office would be collected into Active Directory sites. Sites help facilitate replication between domain controllers. Each site at which you plan to install an Exchange Server 2007 computer needs a Windows Server 2003 SP1+ or R2 global catalog server. Global catalog servers can be installed only on computers that are already domain controllers. It is not necessary for the domain controllers or global catalog servers to be running a 64-bit version of Windows Server 2003. Although a global catalog server always existed at each site in Windows 2000 domains, the Windows Server 2003 universal group membership caching feature means that there is not always a global catalog server at each site.

Recall that the Cube Wizard adds only the keys of the dimension tables as dimension attributes. Most real-life dimensions will require additional attributes. In this exercise, you revisit the dimensions generated by the Cube Wizard and refine their design.
Lesson 2: Debugging and Tracing
Windows adds items to the frequently used programs area as a user opens them. Windows then moves the items up or down the list automatically depending on how often a user opens them. When a computer is new and there are no items in this list, Windows adds programs to the list the first time a user opens them. As users continue to open programs, Windows orders the list automatically by how frequently the programs are opened. If a user does not need specific items that appear on the list, you can remove items by right-clicking and choosing Remove From This List. In addition, you can remove all items and even disable the frequently used programs list altogether from the Customize Start Menu dialog box by following these steps: 1. Right-click the Start button and select Properties. 2. In the Taskbar And Start Menu Properties dialog box, verify that Start Menu is selected and click Customize. 3. In the Customize Start Menu dialog box, in the Programs section, click Clear List to clear all items from the frequently used programs area of the Start menu. 4. To increase or decrease the number of programs shown, change the value for Number Of Programs On Start Menu by using the arrows. Zero disables the Start menu. Figure 4-11 shows an example of the Customize Start Menu dialog box. Click OK and click OK again to apply the changes.
