POP3 and IMAP4 are disabled by default on a computer configured with the Client Access role. As almost all e-mail clients use one of these protocols to retrieve e-mail, it is necessary to activate them prior to putting the Client Access role into a production environment. You can activate these services using two methods: using the Services console or using the NET START command from a command prompt. You should use the Services console, as this will also allow you to change the service startup type from manual to automatic. If you do not do this, you may reboot the server after applying updates and forget that neither the POP3 nor the IMAP4 service starts

You can use rules in conjunction with views or not at all. When used in conjunction with views, you see only the content you are interested in. If you have only a limited time to read each newsgroup, this can make your experience more fulfilling. Filtering is covered in more detail in Practice 4.

You can also pipe the output of commands based on the Get-Mailbox cmdlet into the Get-MailboxStatistics command. If, for example, you wanted statistics for the Don Hall, Keith Harris, and Kim Akers mailboxes of all users in the Accounts Department, you could use the following command:
5. The com authoritative server replies with the IP address of a name server that has authority over the contoso.com second-level domain. 6. The local name server sends another query for www.contoso.com to the IP address of the contoso.com name server. 7. The contoso.com name server replies with the IP address for www.contoso.com. 8. The local name server returns the IP address of www.contoso.com to the original resolver. Reverse Lookup Queries A reverse lookup query is one in which an IP address is resolved to a host or domain name. Some TCP/IP utilities (such as nslookup, ping, and netstat) use reverse lookups. Reverse lookups can also be useful if you are trying to keep track of network usage, if you are trying to track down a host that is causing issues on the network, or even if you are trying to verify the identity of a host. Because DNS databases are indexed using names and not IP addresses, searching for a name on the basis of an IP address within a regular DNS database structure would be a slow process. To solve this problem, a special domain was created in the arpa root domain named in-addr.arpa, which stands for Inverse Address. In-addr.arpa uses the IP address as an index to the host's resource record information. When the proper resource record is located, the host name can be extracted. Nodes in the in-addr.arpa domain are named after the numbers in the dotted decimal representation of an IP address. However, because IP addresses get more specific from left to right and domain names get more specific from right to left, the order of the IP address octets is reversed when building the corresponding name in the in-addr.arpa domain. For example, a host name with the IP address would be a PTR record in the 201.168.192.in-addr.arpa zone file. The entry in that file would take the form 35 IN PTR host_name. The in-addr-arpa domain is built using a hierarchy just like a standard DNS domain. As the in-addr-arpa domain is built, special resource records called pointer (PTR) records are added to the domain s database to map IP addresses to host names. You ll learn more about resource records in the next section.
A declared SOAP fault is one in which the operation is decorated with a FaultContract attribute. As part of the definition of a FaultContract attribute, a custom class that contains information about the fault is included. These two elements make up the declaration of the SOAP fault and, because the elements are part of the Service contract, the client knows, prior to any operation being invoked, that this fault could be thrown. The following code provides a sample of how this could be done:
Saying I Don t Know
