Develop QRCode in C# Off the Record

To create a Web service project, you need to create a project using the Web service template in Visual Studio 2005. Using the template adds certain files and directories to your project by default. This makes it easier to get started on building your first Web service. Figure 1-1 shows the New Web Site dialog box that is displayed when you cre ate a new ASP.NET Web service project.

The key HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion contains useful subkeys for learning more about Windows XP but not customizing it. The values in this subkey describe the current version of Windows XP, the registered owner, and the path in which you installed the operating system. For IT professionals, the three most useful subkeys are in the following list: HotFix. This key contains one subkey for each hotfix installed on the computer. The value Installed is 0x01 if the hotfix is installed; it's 0x00 otherwise. The HotFix key fills up quickly 360

Regedit, including the versions that come with Windows 2000 and Windows XP, adopts one of Microsoft Internet Explorer's most useful features: Favorites. This enables you to bookmark the subkeys that you edit most frequently and return to them quickly. Clicking a subkey on the Favorites menu is certainly a better alternative to clicking your way through the key pane or, worse yet, trying to remember where Windows XP stores the Run key in the registry. Adding a key to Favorites is easy, and after you add it, you can click its name on the Favorites menu (Figure 2 3) and go straight to that key.

note
Description This policy determines the period of time that must pass after a lockout before Active Directory will automatically unlock a user s account. The policy is not set by default because it is useful only in conjunction with the Account Lockout Threshold policy. The policy accepts values ranging from 0 to 99999 minutes, or about 10 weeks. A value of 0 will require the user to contact appropriate administrators to unlock the account manually. Although a value of 0 sounds secure and is often touted as a best practice, it is in fact not recommended because it provides attackers the ability to cause Denial Of Service (DoS) failures by locking out service, user, or computer accounts. Instead, a low setting (5 to 15 minutes) is sufficient to reduce account attacks significantly without allowing lengthy DoS and without unreasonably affecting legitimate users who are mistakenly locked out. This setting specifies the time that must pass after an invalid logon attempt before the counter resets to zero. The range is 1 to 99999 minutes, and must be less than or equal to the account lockout duration.
SQL Server 2005 lets you track locks being acquired and released in events; however, for almost any level of concurrent usage, events that acquire and release locks occur frequently. To troubleshoot concurrency issues, you should not attempt to capture and analyze all lock events. Instead, you should use Profiler to find deadlocks and lock timeouts. You need to monitor the following events classes:
1. Which data column is required to correlate a System Monitor counter log to a trace in SQL Server Profiler A. Text Data B. End Time C. SPID D. Start Time
1. Correct Answer: D A. Incorrect: Because you are upgrading the operative system of a domain controller, you must perform another step prior to the upgrade.
The wizard then walks you through several pages of questions, the answers to which are used to build the resulting package. The wizard pages include the following:
Remove-Message Filter {SCL ge 6} -WithNDR $False
Dim myDomain As AppDomain = AppDomain.CreateDomain( MyDomain", appDomainEvidence)
Ian Mclean Often the analysis of queries is not particularly demanding. For example, I once did some work for a professional society with a large number of members worldwide, which frequently carried out searches based on the first few (typically three) letters of a member s surname. The Surname column stored data in mixed case by using case-sensitive collation. So that all members were located, the query used the UPPER function for example:
