The APM and Exceptions
// Define a type, construct an instance of it, & initialize its properties var o1 = new { Name = "Jeff", Year = 1964 }; // Display the properties on the console: Console.WriteLine("Name={0}, Year={1}", o1.Name, o1.Year);// Displays: Name=Jeff, Year=1964
The DataSet object already exposes DataTable objects as IEnumerable collections of data. Therefore, writing LINQ queries against a DataSet or DataTable are not much different than writing against other collections of data. As an example, imagine that you have a large DataTable that contains employee records. Assume that you have to write a LINQ query against it. You first define your query variable of a type that implements the IEnumerable(T) interface. This ensures that the query can execute and iterate over the data. You then define this variable by using the From <element> In <collection> LINQ syntax. You can then define a Where clause, Order By clause, and more. The following code shows an example of defining a query against a single database table (employee) stored in a DataSet object.
Using the previous example as a template, our first inclination might be to use a buffer to solve this problem . In this case, using STDistance() results in a much more efficient query:
