In the previous section, you learned that DOM parsers are a poor choice when working with huge XML documents. In general, you can say that XmlReader is better suited when You need to only read the document. The document is huge. You need to keep the memory footprint small. You want to work with many XML documents that are a reasonable size. You do not want to access various parts of the document randomly. Similarly, XmlWriter is better suited when You want to only write content. You want to keep the memory footprint small. You are writing huge XML documents and looking for better performance.

The .NET Framework s configuration system is based purely on XML. When you install the .NET Framework on a machine, an XML file named Machine.config is installed in the installation folder. The Machine.config file is the master configuration file and contains configuration settings that are applied to all .NET applications running on that machine. Though this file is in XML format and can be edited directly, you should do so with caution. Any change made to this file is going to affect all the applications running on that machine. Figure 11-21 shows a view of Machine.config.
You are now ready to install WordPress on your server. You have created a database, given permissions to your database user, uploaded the WordPress files, created a couple of new files, and set permissions appropriately. Although reading through these instructions, it seems like a lot of work, if you are already familiar with these tasks, this whole process really does take only five minutes! Have heart, you are nearly there. Go to your web browser and type the following address into the address bar (assuming you installed in the blog directory): http://yourdomain/blog/wp-admin/install.php This will load the WordPress install script, as shown in Figure 14-5. Click First Step, and you will be prompted for the title of your weblog and an e-mail address. As shown in Figure 14-6, type in a suitable name Wendy s Weblog, Tuxedo News, or whatever you want to call it. Don t worry you can change the title later. Make sure the e-mail address you enter is valid. Your administrator (admin) password will be sent to it. Click the Continue to Second Step button to move to the next step. Next, you will see a progress screen as the install script creates your database tables for you. In practice, it is so fast that all you will see is the Finished! message. You will see instructions for logging in to your new blog. Make a careful note of the password. For security reasons, it is a randomly generated one.
CHAPTER 26 IN DEPTH: B ASE
We mentioned previously in Primary Keys that no part of a primary key can be null. This is to guarantee that primary key values exist for all rows. The requirement that primary key values exist and that they are unique is known as entity integrity (EI). The DBMS enforces entity integrity by not allowing operations (INSERT, UPDATE) to produce an invalid primary key. Any
